1.Application of Tumor/Normal Organoids
We utilize patient-derived tumor and normal organoids for basic research, drug screening, gene profiling, and establishing biobanks. These organoid models serve as valuable platforms for conducting translational research, bridging the gap between preclinical studies and clinical applications.
2. Tumor Microenvironment in Cancer Metastasis
Metastasis to the liver is highly prevalent in pancreatic and biliary tract cancers, yet the underlying mechanisms are not fully elucidated. Moving beyond a tumor cell-centric approach, our research aims to identify metastasis-inducing cells and investigate their intricate interplay with the tumor microenvironment during the dissemination process from the primary site to metastatic sites. This line of inquiry holds promise for uncovering novel targets to inhibit metastasis.
3. Cancer Subtype Transition
Recent studies have focused on subtyping pancreatic and biliary tract cancers, revealing that external factors can induce transitions between subtypes. This subtype transition is expected to modulate the response to chemotherapeutics. Our research seeks to understand the mechanisms driving subtype changes and identify therapeutic strategies to maximize treatment efficacy by leveraging subtype-specific vulnerabilities.
