The goal of our research team is to understand stem cell characteristics and behaviors during homeostasis and aging. To realize this objective, we apply our novel genetic tools in a range of biological platforms: iPSCs, organoids, and organismal models across species (for details, see “Project 2. Borderless Gene Editing”). Our representative achievements include 1) the development of a Short Conditional intrON (SCON) that acquires conditional target gene knockout merely by a single injection (see “Project 3. SCON & ICON”) and 2) a Rosa-Confetti multicolor reporter cassette tailored for the emerging area of mosaic genetics (see “Project 4. Mosaic genetics”). Furthermore, we are focused on enhancing genetic tool applications via spatial genomics and high-content screening platforms.
As a core lab of the CGE, our team provides mentoring and support for all other individual research teams and members within the center.
