Lab design is the careful planning of various elements when setting up a laboratory. In this process, the lab’s users, its technical equipment – whether basic or highly specialized – and even the potential for growth are some of the factors that are considered. The goal is to arrange all these elements in the available space in a way that is safe and efficient, but also flexible enough for any adjustments that may need to be made in the future.
Sunyoung Moon (M.S., space and equipment) and Minkyung Choi (M.S., safety and IT), both researchers at the CGE, hold administrative roles with the CGE’s steering committee. Based on the decisions made by the committee, they assign any lab design-related tasks to other members.
