The IMGN (short for ‘plant ImMunity & GeNomics’) lab investigates biological systems that shape the interactions between organisms and their environments, with a foundation in plant biology, genomics, and genome engineering. We are particularly interested in understanding how plants, microorganisms, and microalgae sense, interact with, and adapt to their biological and environmental surroundings.
Our research spans multiple scales, from molecular recognition and genome function to microbial communities and ecological interactions. By combining fundamental biology with genome engineering and microbiome-based approaches, we aim to develop new ways to understand and manipulate biological systems, ultimately contributing to a more sustainable relationship between living organisms and our planet.
