Project: CRISPR/Cas application strategies for anti-cancer medicinal plants
Our lab primarily conducts research on four major anti-cancer medicinal plants. First, we analyze the plants’ genetic information and pinpoint the core genes involved in anti-cancer substance synthesis. Then, we develop plant cell culture methods that can generate the metabolites at a massive scale with high efficiency. In addition to this research, we are also developing novel CRISPR/Cas tools by analyzing complete sets of microbiological data to pioneer digital breeding in medicinal plants.
