Clean Canadian Natural Health Products: Validating Customized Nutraceuticals via Organoid Platforms
As global demand for safe, scientifically validated functional foods accelerates, Canada’s pristine environment and abundant agricultural resources offer unparalleled opportunities. Over the past two decades, my research—bridging the University of Saskatchewan and Prairie Tide Diversified Inc. (PTD)—has focused on the discovery and commercialization of "Clean Canada" customized natural health products. Key innovations from our pipeline include Linusorbs (flaxseed cyclic peptides with potent anti-inflammatory properties), natural Alpha-GPC (a cognitive-enhancing upcycled ingredient), and AquaForté (a highly functional vegan egg substitute). We have rigorously standardized these biomaterials using an "Authentomics" approach to meet global regulatory standards for safety and authenticity. However, fully unlocking the therapeutic potential of these customized products requires precise physiological validation. This seminar highlights the synergistic potential of integrating our clean Canadian nutraceutical pipeline with the Center for Genome Engineering’s cutting-edge "Organoid Zoo" platform. By utilizing advanced cross-species organoid models, we can rapidly and accurately screen the regenerative and anti-aging efficacies of our plant-derived compounds in physiologically relevant 3D microenvironments, establishing a new global standard for the commercialization of precision functional foods.
